The St. Moritz Ice Skating Club is a volunteer organization.
All Club members should volunteer a few hours of their time. The more each member puts into the Club, the more we all benefit. Listed below are a few of the many jobs in the Club. Please take a minute to read the list and consider assisting the Club by filling one of these positions.

Volunteer Opportunities Form
Board of Directors – 9 members
- Current Requirements: Full Skating Member, 18 years or older, eligible to vote in previous election
- Time Commitment: 2-year terms; Monthly meetings; additional time as necessary
Skate St. Moritz, Bay Cities Synchro, Other Competitions
- Co-Chair: oversees the organization and running of a competition
- Current Requirements: Member or parent of member, 18 years or older
- Time Commitment: 6 – 9 months; hours per week vary
- Registrar: receives competition entries and inputs data
- Current Requirements: Member or parent of member, 18 years or older
- Time Commitment: 4 – 6 months; hours per week vary
- Committee Chair: oversees a specific committee necessary to the running of a competition; gets shift volunteers as needed.
- Current Requirements: Any willing person, 18 years or older (16–17 okay, certain committees)
- Time Commitment: 2 – 6 months
- Shift Volunteer
- Current Requirements: Any willing person, 13 years or older (8 – 12 okay for certain committees; some committees require 18 years minimum)
- Time Commitment: 2 hours minimum, more if available
Officials – Judges, Referees, Technical Specialists & Controllers, Accountants, Music Coordinators, Announcers
- Current Requirements: Member of U.S. Figure Skating; 16 years minimum to start trial judging or training; 18 years minimum to be appointed an official; skating knowledge and background recommended (required for technical specialists); other knowledge specific to accounting or music beneficial for those tasks.

CCIA Delegate
- Represent the Club at quarterly meetings of the Central California Interclub Association (CCIA)
- Current Requirements: Member, 18 years or older
- Time Commitment: 1-year minimum; quarterly meetings
Governing Council Delegate
- Represent the Club at general meeting of U.S. Figure Skating where rule changes and other issues are discussed and voted on.
- Current Requirements: Member, 18 years or older; partial expenses paid by club
- Time Commitment: 1 year appointment –3-5 days for meeting and travel
Session Chair
- Oversee Club session, collect guest fees
- Current Requirements: Member or parent of member on session, 18 years or older
- Time Commitment: Skating season for the session
Nominating Committee
- Recruit eligible members to run for the Board.
- Current Requirements: Member, 18 years or older; may not be candidate for or currently serve on Board
- Time Commitment: 3 – 4 months
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, Parent Liaison to Board (one from each rink), Election Judges, Finance Advisory Committee, Web Director, Club Historian and archivist, Test Chair or Assistant Test Chair, Membership Chair or Assistant Membership Chair, Event Coordinator, Fund-raising Coordinator, Publicity, Ad-hoc Committees appointed by Board, Chairs and volunteers are always needed for other events, such as exhibitions, critiques, parties, etc. We also occasionally need assistance with mass mailings (e.g., registration materials, election ballots).
